Corporate Officers The Management Committee is composed of key officers in finance, cost accounting, field operations, service and estimating. The committee meets regularly and reports to the President as often as necessary to ensure the optimal operation of the company.
Mark
holds a dual degree in Accounting and Economics from Luther College
in Decorah, Iowa. He joined Cannon & Wendt after gaining fourteen
years experience on the financial side of the construction industry
and spending four years on the front lines at a CPA firm.A member of the Management Committee and a Trustee of the Profit Sharing Committee, Mark’s responsibilities include total cost control, both in the office and in the field, including financial statements, job cost control, projections, budgeting, contract review, bonding, insurance, safety, general accounting, cash management and general office administration. He oversees all billings, integrating all estimates, labor and materials into the costing system. In 2004, Mark was designated Chairman of the NECA / IBEW Drugfree Workplace Program. He accepted the position of President for the Federated Electrical Contractors (FEC) in 2002, a trade organization comprised of 34 electrical contractors across the U.S., United Kingdom, Japan, Canada and Puerto Rico, responsible for $2 billion in revenue annually. Within FEC, Mark held the position of Secretary-Treasurer and served as a Director and Finance Committee Chair. In 2000, he was elected Vice President and Program Chairman of the organization. Mark has also served on the Board of Directors for the Phoenix Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
David is the fourth generation of the Fagan family to be involved in the electrical contracting industry. He has hands-on experience to complement his Business degree from the University of Arkansas and MBA from the University of Missouri. He has also completed numerous NECA courses and management seminars
Since joining Cannon & Wendt, David has been involved in the management of a wide variety of projects ranging from high-rise condominiums to Class 1 clean rooms, Tier IV data centers, state of the art arenas and stadiums, and regional office campuses. His experience in conceptual budgeting, design-assist, design-build and fast-track projects is a major asset when working with customers. David has served as Cannon & Wendt’s NECA Representative and is currently involved with several Electrical Contracting Foundation (FEC) task forces and Federated Electrical Contractors’ Advanced Technology and Purchasing Groups.
Ron joined the Cannon & Wendt team after moving to Phoenix and transferring his traveling card to Local 640. His vast experience is supported with schooling in power generation, high voltage installations and an Associates degree in Business Management. Ron attended most of NECA’s Supervision courses, along with code and estimating. He has also been the local NECA Representative on the Apprenticeship Committee for both this area and the 7th District..
As a valuable asset to the team, Ron has been involved in the successful completion of many projects in the Valley of the Sun including Terminals 3 & 4 at Sky Harbor International Airport and the America West Arena, home of the Phoenix Suns. He also held the position of Project Manager for the electrical installations at numerous casinos, resorts and correctional facilities. Ron was part of the team that supplied the budgets for the Glendale Arena and the Cardinals Stadium, leading to construction contracts for both projects.. Ron is responsible for all fiels operations in his role as Vice President including the coordination of manpower transfers and aiding all field personnel and their concerns.
Shane completed his Electrical Apprenticeship and earned an Associate Degree of Science in Utah. He attended the University of Utah, where he studied economics and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Since joining the Cannon & Wendt team, Shane has been involved in various National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) committees, where he presently serves as Vice President and a board member of the Arizona Chapter of the NECA and the President for the NECA Drug Free Work Place Program. Shane is also certified as an instructor for the Electrical Project Supervision series of courses sponsored by NECA and the Electrical Contracting Foundation
He has held field positions as an Intermediate Journeyman Wireman, Journeyman Wireman, and Field Supervisor. Shane has also been a Project Manager/Estimator and Division Manager within Cannon & Wendt and plays an essential role with the many hospital renovations in the Phoenix area As well as serving as a member of the Cannon & Wendt Management Committee, Shane is responsible for the oversight of all projects and personnel within the Special Projects & Service Division.
