Announcements Cardinals Stadium
2006 brings Cannon and Wendt a brand new year to look forward to, and the final phase of the Cardinal Stadium Project. Substantial Completion / TCO is scheduled for August 01, 2006 which leaves us less than 6 months to go. Several major milestones completed in 2005 included; 15,000 volts of permanent SRP power delivered to the (4) 15KV Switchgear line-ups in May and 480V (800Amps) of permanent power to the retractable roof was completed in November. All (6) major double ended substations are currently “hot” and most of the (7) electrical risers to mechanical equipment were completed in December. All (20) of the giant Air Handling Units were energized for the mechanical contractor in November and December, so that the air balancing sub-contractor could start his work. Also, one-half of the Sports Lights were energized in December. Finally, 7000 of the 14,000 fixtures were installed and ready to be turned on.
Cannon & Wendt’s construction team is headed by Project Manager Ken Bowcock and Field Supervisor Sterling Woods. Mobilization started with just (3) electricians back in July of 2003. Sterling’s supervision team now includes Ron Forney, Dave Abernathy, Gregg Castle, Steve DeCelles, Marc Denesovic, Glen Foulk, Rusty Havens, John Musselman, John Olson and Aaron Wright. As of January 2006 this team supervises approximately 75 electricians. The final 6 months will have us completing the electrical trim, and hardwire equipment connections to (66) concessions. ˝ half of the 88 luxury suites have been completed with the balance of suites finishing by April 2006. We will complete the installation of the remaining 7000 light fixtures. The second half of the Sports Lights will be energized by the end of January. The final aiming of the MUSCO Sports Lights to meet NFL Broadcast standards will be completed in July when the field and grass are moved inside the stadium. The branch rough-in is almost complete, and the trimming of 7000+ electrical receptacles has commenced.
The rough-in for the electrified field consisting of (98) floor and wall 60A -208V and 100A-480V floor boxes is complete. We will commence wire pulling and trimming of these boxes. The traffic rated boxes will provide power for the alternate venues scheduled for the facility. The final activity scheduled for the months of May, June and July will be to build out the Cardinals and visitors locker rooms and ancillary rooms to support an NFL game. All looks good for the project which remains on schedule and per Ken Bowcock the project is tracking on budget. |
